BRIEF:
Create a menu design for an authentic Mexican Function

PROBLEMS:
- How to make the menu communicate homemade, authentic and fun

SOLUTIONS:
- Colour choice and imagery were inspired by the typical Mexican style
- Text and imagery were hand drawn, creating the desired 'home-made' feel
Photos:
I designed the menu items, ordered the produce and cooked the dishes
T-SHIRT-MOCK-UP
BRIEF:
Create a modern, outdoor-wear style t-shirt design and slogan
Hand-drawn slogan: From Peak to Pint
INITIAL PROBLEMS:
- Creating a design suitable for a pub
- How to conform with the brand's identity: community owned

SUCCESSES:
- The slogan 'From Peak to Pint' suited the pub's remote location
- The mountaineering-wear style fitted with the clientele of the pub
DESIGN ISSUES:
- This design didn't communicate the brand clearly enough
SUCCESSES:
- The cairn imagery fit very well with the community aspect, 'Scottishness', and the hiking culture of the pub
- The cairn created a pleasing composition
- The muted colour palette is reminiscent of old film and vintage hiking posters
- The rugged text translates the rough remote landscape into type

REFLECTION:
- With iteration, I reached a design which fit the brand
- The final design is perhaps more marketable to a younger audience
- The logo change is perhaps too dissimilar from the existing logo
